Ben Fahrman

Lecturer

Ben Fahrman joined the College of Engineering at the University of Georgia in 2018 as a Lecturer. Since joining the faculty at UGA, Ben has been focused on adapting teaching strategies to improve student success in Statics. He has incorporated active learning techniques such as a flipped classroom and collaborative learning—both of which have had significant positive impacts. Ben is currently working on a collection of interactive open educational resources that will reduce costs for students and (hopefully) be more engaging alternatives to the traditional static (non-interactive) Statics text. He is also determined to implement proficiency-based assessment practices to assign grades that are more meaningful than traditional alternatives.
