Professor and School Chair
Fred Beyette currently serves as Chair of the School of Electrical & Computer Engineering. While his research work has largely focused on the design of embedded systems for neurologic health and wellness applications, he has recently moved into engineering education research. His education research interests focus on online and remote lab technologies with a particular focus on how providing ease of access to instructional lab technologies impacts student confidence and sense of engineering identity. Dr. Beyette has a particular interest in how these educational resources impact the development and retention of students from demographic groups that are under represented in Electrical & Computer Engineering.
