Thomas Lawrence, Ph.D., P.E., LEED-AP

Professor of Practice

Tom Lawrence was the primary ‘architect’ of the mechanical engineering degree program at UGA. He has championed issues such as the inclusion of profession practice skills in the curriculum, for example personnel skills such as how to run a meeting effectively.  He also was a key contributor to the development of the engineering and German dual-degree program and still is the primary engineering faculty contact for this program.

A short conversation about engineering education with Dr. Lawrence:

“I try to provide multiple ways of learning the same material and look for ways to incorporate different activities, so everybody has a chance to work in a way that allows them to excel.”
