Fatima Anwar Omar is a Ph.D. student in Engineering Education at the University of Georgia, Athens, USA. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce with a specialization in Financial Analysis and a Master’s degree in Accounting and Finance.
Fatima brings over 12 years of professional experience in the corporate and industry sectors across the United Arab Emirates and Pakistan. She brings leadership experience and has worked as Operation Finance and Admin Manager and Head of department in multinational companies. In her roles, she led cross-functional teams, managed departmental operations, and contributed to strategic planning and decision-making processes.
Currently, Fatima is working as a Graduate Research Assistant in Dr. James Huff’s Beyond Professional Identity (BPI) Lab. Her research focuses on examining the lived experiences of engineers in both workplace and academic settings using social and cultural lenses.
Beyond her academic and professional pursuits, Fatima enjoys traveling, exploring new places, watching movies and documentaries, reading novels, and listening to music.
