Dr. John Aliu is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the Engineering Education Transformations Institute (EETI). His research focuses on equipping engineering students with critical competencies and enhancing their employability amidst rapid technological advancement.

Dr. Aliu’s research also aims to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry demands, ensuring graduates are prepared for the complexities of modern engineering practice. He conducts research on smart and sustainable construction and explores innovative Nature-based Solutions (NbS) for building resilient infrastructures. Dr. Aliu earned his doctorate in Civil Engineering from the University of Johannesburg in South Africa, where he was a recipient of the Global Excellence Stature (GES) Scholarship. Additionally, he holds a courtesy affiliation with the University of Johannesburg.
